Vucevic: Conclusions should be drawn from KFOR's answer

The Minister of Defense, Milos Vucevic, points out that it is no coincidence that KFOR delivered the response to Belgrade's request for the return of Serbian security forces to Kosovo on Christmas Eve and that certain conclusions should be drawn from the response.

"It is not a coincidence that they are handing us the answer on Christmas Eve. President Aleksandar Vucic will inform the public about the answer and above all the context, as well as the political and security messages. We should draw certain conclusions from that," Vucevic emphasized to TV Prva.

He underlined that everything was a mix of things and reminded that on the day when the answer had been delivered, Serbian boys had been injured near Strpac.

"Belgrade must react soberly and rationally. We will continue to preserve peace and stability in every way, the Serbs in Kosovo, because as long as there are Serbs and a church in Kosovo, there is also Serbia in Kosovo," Vucevic emphasized.

He said that it would be ideal to reach a historic agreement with the Albanians, but that he was not optimistic, because there was no such will on the other side.

"But we should not give up, nor are we the ones who should give up, so that we don’t end up accused as the main culprit and disruptive factor," Vucevic stressed.

He said that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti was the generator of violence against the Serbs because Pristina propagated a policy according to which Serbs were intruders, occupiers, and foreign bodies in Kosovo, and that they should be erased from that territory.

Vucevic said that the perpetrator had been discovered, that he was in front of the investigative authorities of Kosovo, but that the path to the real motive, to the initiator of all the attacks, led to the politics that we saw and heard in Pristina and that had been conducted since 1999, in which the narrative was that the Serbs were intruders, occupiers, foreign bodies in Kosovo and Metohija, that they should be erased from that territory.

He is irritated, he says, by the silence of the international community, that is, the 24-hour pause to issue a statement.

"Nowhere in those announcements is it said that a boy and a young man were shot, but that persons were shot. They are not, as Kurti says, some Kosovo citizens, but boys, Serbs who were shot just because they are Serbs," Vucevic said.

He asked what kind of neutral wording was being used.

"Kurti is the aggregate and accelerator of everything, because he promotes all that, even though he doesn't say something like that directly. That's his policy," Vucevic added.

He said that it was important that the Serbs in Kosovo remain united and that there were no divisions.
