Vucevic: Gabon will not vote for the Srebrenica resolution; it will continue to support Serbia on the Kosovo issue
Prime Minister of Serbia Milos Vucevic stated today that his colleague Raymond Ndong Sima had informed him that Gabon would not vote for the resolution on Srebrenica that would be discussed in the United Nations. Additionally, Vucevic expressed gratitude to Gabon for fully supporting and recognizing Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty regarding Kosovo.
Vucevic and Ndong Sima met today at the Palace of Serbia, where agreements on cooperation between the two countries in the fields of sports and defense were signed.
"Prime Minister Sima informed us that their country would not vote for the proposed resolution in the UN regarding the so-called genocide in Srebrenica, for which we are immensely grateful. We have, of course, acquainted the Prime Minister and the Gabonese delegation with Serbia's position on this resolution, without underestimating or diminishing the war crimes that occurred there and without denying the individual responsibility of anyone who may have participated in the commission of these crimes," Vucevic said.
Vucevic added that the resolution had been prepared contrary to Bosnia and Herzegovina's internal procedures and without consultations, and that it would lead to additional escalations and the worsening of inter-ethnic relations within Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As he emphasized, Gabon supports Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
"Gabon is one of the countries that has recently withdrawn recognition of the so-called Kosovo, which is of invaluable importance to us and confirms our good and sincere relations, which have been ongoing since the Non-Aligned Movement and still have strong potential today," Vucevic said.
