Vucic on announced Kurti-Ulutas meeting: Serbia is being sent a signal that there is no point in negotiating
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that Serbia was being sent a signal that there was no point in negotiating, given that the Brussels Agreement had still not been implemented. He made the remarks in response to caretaker Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti's announcement that he would meet with KFOR Commander Ozkan Ulutas this afternoon to discuss the opening of the Ibar Bridge.
"Everything Kurti is doing, and everything they are doing with him, is completely absurd. I have just one question: When are you going to implement the Brussels Agreement signed in April 2013? Nothing more, just that. You in the European Union put your signature on it—when are you going to implement it?" he asked.
Vucic said that the Serbian delegation had so far negotiated the opening of the Ibar Bridge 50 times within the framework of the Brussels Dialogue.
"In this way, you are sending us a signal that there is no point in talking and negotiating, even though we have always negotiated. What are we supposed to talk about? We negotiated the Ibar Bridge 50 times, and now you are going to resolve the issue by force together with your NATO friends. We will see. I will speak with Rutte. As I said, the conversation between Milan Mojsilovic and Ulutas was civil, but it was not a good one," Vucic concluded.
As a reminder, caretaker Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that during his meeting with Ulutas they would discuss the details of opening the Ibar Bridge, given that, as he put it, it was absurd for the bridge to remain closed.
