Vucic on Erdogan's statement: Thank you, we have taken into account what he said

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic stated tonight that the message from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, stating that he would continue to work intensively on the international recognition of Kosovo, was a "bit heavier" statement for Serbia, but that they took his words into account.

Vucic, speaking for TV Pink, responded to the observation that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban openly supports Serbia, while Erdogan, after a meeting with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, says he supports Kosovo on the path to independence, emphasizing that the Turkish president said something slightly more challenging.

"Erdogan said he would continue to work intensively on the international recognition of Kosovo's independence, which is a bit heavier for us. Thanks to our friend, we have taken into account what he said," Vucic emphasized.

On the other hand, he noted that Orban is a man who genuinely loves Serbia, supports it, and does not hesitate to risk his position to help Serbia.

"Hats off to that, and endless thanks to him. If I contributed in any way to creating reconciliation between Serbs and Hungarians, I am happy. Thanks to Orban for everything he has done," Vucic said.

Regarding the gas interconnector, which will be officially opened tomorrow, the president stated that it cost almost 90 million euros, of which the European Union donated as much as 50 million euros.

"That interconnector is important for Serbia. We are connected to Bulgaria through the interconnector, which is 60% of our annual consumption. This allows us to lease a part of Azerbaijani gas," Vucic said.

Tomorrow, the beginning of the operation of the Serbia-Bulgaria gas interconnector will be marked in Nis, and Vucic will host Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Bulgarian President Rumen Radev.

"Bobajev is coming, the most important man after Aliyev, so we will have many ministers with us. Mali, Dacic, the Minister of Agriculture, Selakovic... We have bilateral meetings with them. We also have good cooperation with Azerbaijan when it comes to weapons. Thanks to them, a good part of our industry is functioning. We will also have a military exercise tomorrow," Vucic added.
