Vucic: If I were Putin, which foreign country did Serbia attack?
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said today that he understood why Albin Kurti was trying to present himself as Volodymyr Zelenskyy and him as Vladimir Putin, because, as he pointed out, there were many paid people in the world who wanted to accept that kind of comparison.
"There are many who are comfortable with it, the only problem is that they cannot explain one thing - on whose foreign territory did the Serbian foot step and which foreign country did we attack. And with Kurti, it is a little different with those who support him." President Vucic pointed out.
All comparisons, he says, are meaningless, because Serbia did not attack Germany, America, or Britain, but they attacked Serbia in 1999.
"And, to tell you the truth, I don't care who they compare me to and how. We have our own politics, Serbian, which is neither Russian, nor German, English, nor American, and least of all Albanian, and we will conduct our politics and take care of our country,” Vucic said.
In response to the criticism coming from Germany, Vucic pointed out that Germany was Serbia's key partner, the most important, which was why we had to take care of every word, and not underestimate what they said.
"We will try to talk to the Germans, to explain our position, because they always, unlike one another country, which is not the US, refer to international law, except in the case of Serbia. The only resolution they do not refer to is - 1244, because their politics are different there. It is up to us to try to explain our position to them. We will see whether they listen to us or not, but economically without Germany, it is difficult..." Vucic said.
He added that this did not mean that we would allow any of their journalists or politicians to humiliate us.
"That's why I responded like that (to the statement about domestication). If the goal is to domesticate us and it has to be as you say, and you don't want to cooperate as a partner, I'm sorry," Vucic said.
