Vucic: Obvious terror by Kurti and EULEX's strange behavior, Serbs will not lose their income

Today, following the Kosovo Police's raid on the premises of the temporary authorities and post offices south of the Ibar River, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that the terror exerted by Pristina on the Serbs, which reflects their powerlessness and fear of upcoming changes after the shift in power in the USA, is evident. He pointed out the peculiar behavior of EULEX on the ground and mentioned the delayed reaction of the EU. He assured that the Serbs in Kosovo will not be left without income.
"Serbs have not lost their jobs and will not be jobless. They will have incomes and will be able to support their families, as Serbia takes care of them. All those who were dismissed by Albin Kurti have not lost their income because Serbia has taken it upon itself to ensure these people can live," Vucic told TV B92.
He emphasized that the terror exerted by Pristina on the Serbs is apparent.
He also noted the long wait for a reaction from the EU and the unusual behavior of EULEX in the field.
Responding to the assertion that the Kosovo Police conducted the raid without a prosecutor's decision, he retorted that this allows Pristina to claim that the decision was Kurti's, not dictated by foreigners.
"This is not a display of strength and power, but rather of weakness and fear of the impending changes," the Serbian President stressed.
Vucic remarked that changes in the world are inevitable and will be "tectonic and vast," and that not all of these changes will be favorable or to Serbia's liking.
"However, using a sports metaphor, the game will not be played only in our penalty area; it will cover the entire field. The situation will be much different after January 20. There is great nervousness everywhere, among everyone. And, no one knows what will follow," he added.
Vucic assured that the Serbian state would continue to care for the Serbian people in Kosovo.
He announced that he would soon engage in discussions with many Serbs from Kosovo, including representatives from the Serbian List.
"The situation is difficult, and we will soon have discussions. I will meet soon with many Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija, with representatives from the Serbian List, representatives of all Serbian authorities in Kosovo and Metohija, but also those representing us in the provincial institutions," Vucic explained.
He pointed out that strategically speaking, Pristina has not gained Serbia's recognition, and it has been anticipated since 2008 that the situation would become increasingly difficult.
Discussing the situation in the UN regarding Kosovo, he said that Serbia's victory would be more convincing than some might think.
He repeated that two more countries would withdraw their recognition of Kosovo's independence, and that it is currently a matter of when and how this will be announced.
"We are still in discussions with other countries. Perhaps there will be another country that will recognize Kosovo, but we will fight, as there has been a change in leadership," Vucic added.
He repeats that the global situation is complicated and that it is a matter of timing when it is possible to make demands.
"What everyone is asking from us is more or less the recognition of Kosovo. We will not do that. Then you wait to strengthen. I see that the Macedonians are boasting about how they are strengthening their armed forces, how much stronger they are. Our job is to be silent and work slowly. That must be tenfold and twentyfold stronger than theirs," the Serbian President declared.
He emphasized that the engine of development and the essential strength of Serbia, compared to all others, must be the economy.
"Then everything becomes easier, and we will await the political momentum," Vucic said.
Against sanctions together with the Hungarians
Speaking of the American sanctions, he announced that experts from Russia are arriving on Friday to start consultations with them, adding that discussions with the Americans have already taken place, and tomorrow there will be talks with OFAC, the institution responsible.
Regarding the Russians, he conveyed that he told them to "find a solution, propose one."
"The only thing I want and will not allow anyone, neither the Russians, the Americans, nor others, to play with us. Serbia must have enough oil and oil derivatives, and refineries must operate, having all the necessary parts. This is important because Serbia must be the fastest-growing economy in Europe this year," Vucic declared.
He also mentioned that he had spoken with the Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto and had exchanged messages with Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
"We are waiting for January 20. We will act together because these sanctions have also impacted the Hungarians due to Rosatom as they are building a nuclear power plant in Paks with the Russians. We will try to talk to the new American administration. It won't be easy. It is not a priority for them," he emphasized.
Vucic indicated that the decision on sanctions was cunningly composed, and that not too much hope should be placed in these discussions.
"But we will fight in that way together with our Hungarian friends," he added.
Vucic, responding to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's statement that Serbia has no right to decide on nationalization, underscored that he never said he would do that, and that Serbia has the right to do so.
He suggested that someone had given Lavrov incorrect information and referred to the agreement with Russia.
"That's why we have called Russia for consultations. I inform my colleague Sergey that Serbia does not wish to nationalize Russian property," he underlined.
