The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said tonight that the situation in Kosovo was extremely difficult, but thanks to the wisdom of the Serbs, peace, and stability had been preserved, and he pointed out that Pristina had no authority to propose the Draft of the Statute of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, with a message to the Special Envoy of the US, Gabriel Escobar to "revise the material".

"The situation in Kosovo and Metohija is extremely difficult, but thanks to patience, wisdom, intelligence, and the boycott of everything related to Albanian institutions, which further irritates them, we managed to preserve peace and stability," Vucic said in the central news program on RTS.

He thanked all the Serbs in Kosovo for their responsibility and seriousness, but also for the support they provided him.

"I think that proportional to the population, the largest number of people at the rally on Friday will be from Kosovo. And those who started on foot are not people who are party sympathizers, they are people who love Serbia, and they know how much we fought and we will continue to we are fighting for Kosovo and Metohija," Vucic pointed out.

He noted that Pristina had the support of certain Quint countries in its moves.

"Escobar says - now we are waiting for Kosovo's proposal for the CSM. I have to remind him, and he won't forgive me for it - to go back and revise the material, to read what is written in the Brussels Agreement and the annexes. The Pristina authorities have no powers and competencies, and they have no right to any proposals. We are neither interested in, nor will we participate in, those stupid things with which they are trying to fool us. Just read what it says," Vucic said.

He pointed out that the Management Team made up of Serbs, was the only competent one.

"It also exists. And don't pretend you've forgotten it. Revise the material. If you're not revising it regarding the UN Charter and Resolution 1244, please do so now," Vucic said.

Regarding pressure, in the form of articles in the New York Times or testimony in the US Senate, he says the following.

"Hats off. You are very strong and brave, and as small as I am, I am a representative of a proud and dignified people and I will not bow my head before such threats. I will only bow my head before our people if I have done something wrong or out of respect. Go ahead, I will protect Serbia, as well as the right to freedom of our people in the Republic of Kosovo"

He added that the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, had been right because Serbia was the only country that had not imposed sanctions on Russia.

"This shows that Serbia is the only one that conducts its own independent policy. I never swore that as long as we can conduct such a policy, we will do so. When we cannot, I will inform the citizens. But we have been doing it for more than a year," Vucic said.

Vucic: The President of the Republic decides to whom he will give the mandate

The President of Serbia spoke about whether there would be elections and in what way, as well as about the meeting in Belgrade on May 26.

"We are going to a referendum. The President of the Republic decides to whom he gives the mandate, as far as the interim government is concerned. The remedy for that is for someone to kill me. I will not destroy my country. This country will be ruled by those who have the trust of the people. I think that a realistic option is to there will be an election. That is the best way. At that gathering, it is an obligation to show reverence for the victims and not to be the ones who will talk about how many of us there are, but to try to solve people's problems," Vucic said.
