Vucic: The state will not allow the pogrom of the Serbs from Kosovo, trust your leadership
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, asked citizens to trust their leadership, stressing that the state would not allow the pogrom of the Serbs from Kosovo and asked everyone to give the leadership a chance to avoid Serbia's action until the last moment.
"Give us a chance to build relations with the US and Europe, give us a chance to survive. We have to be careful, take care, and worry about what the West and the East will say, we are small, we can't do it alone," Vucic said.
As he says, no one in the country has noticed that the Americans have a somewhat different attitude towards Serbia, and he points out that he doesn't trust them either, but the truth is that they don't have the same attitude as in the 1990s.
"They have a better attitude, but they will not change their attitude towards Kosovo, and they think that these are separate things, and we think that they are not separate," the President said.
Vucic said that later he had a meeting with the Serbs from Kosovo, and pointing out that they had already heard that the state would protect them, he asked the journalist if he should tell them that he was going to war.
"When I ask what I should do, everyone is silent, they say the Americans wish us harm, I don't think so, but what should we do," Vucic says.
Stating that he is being called a traitor, Vucic says that he is the only one who has not extradited anyone to The Hague.
"Our army did not exist, today it is 100 times stronger than in the time of Ponos and others, our police are 100 times more prepared and serious, the security on our streets is greater than in other European cities, and we need investments. This keeps us in conditions of inflation, in those conditions, foreign direct investments are the salvation," Vucic pointed out.
As he states, in wartime conditions, we would not be able to win Expo 2027, which will bring a new flywheel and momentum to all of Serbia.
Commenting on Borko Stefanovic's statement that he believed that Kosovo Police officers should be released, Vucic says that everyone from the opposition has been saying that since day one.
"What Orban said means more to me, because he knows that this is the only thing they have against us in Brussels. Now they have come with alleged evidence of them eating sandwiches, and we have an admission that he got lost looking for mushrooms. That is for the authorities, I do not believe that it can be done without an indictment, I know that they were arrested in the territory of central Serbia, I also have the video and all other materials, we offered to the international community that all our members be polygraph-examined about the place where they took the Kosovo Police officers, but that is used for the fierce campaign against Serbia," Vucic said.
He points out that everyone is speaking out against that arrest, including Germans, Americans, Englishmen, and Kurti.
As he says, Stefanovic's position is legitimate politically, but those you find, in the territory you control, must be detained.
"I spoke metaphorically about what they eat and drink, I know that they drink what they want, and I said that in order to make a distinction between the bruises of our people in detention and those who have all the rights. I know why they said that, but I ask if Kurti is a destructive person; he wishes for war, is he the one you praised, a great fighter for human rights, and he uses black bags to put on their heads? He behaves towards our arrested people by cursing their Serbian mother and punching them in the face with a gunstock, beating them tied up. Lune Milenkovic is covered in bruises under the eyes. They also treated others like that. That's why I said that no one had touched them, that they could eat whatever they wanted, from cake to Coca-Cola," Vucic said.
