Vucic with Stoltenberg: Serbia strives to maintain peace and stability

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Monday and asked that all parties in Kosovo-related disputes refrain from steps that would cause escalation, or, more specifically, unilateral actions that would threaten peace and stability.

In the phone call with NATO Secretary General, President Vucic highlighted that Pristina was brutally violating the Brussels Agreement through its unilateral actions, including suspending
the Serb Police Commander for Kosovo North Region Nenad Djuric, conducting illegitimate
actions on the issue of license plates, and an almost ten-year-long refusal to establish the Community of Serb Municipalities. Despite this, he added, Serbia was striving to maintain peace and stability, and would remain committed to that goal.

They also discussed the importance of both the role of KFOR and the direct contact between the Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff and the NATO Commander in Kosovo.

As further stated on the Serbian Progressive Party’s website, Secretary General Stoltenberg pointed out that NATO appreciated the cooperation established with Serbia as a military neutral country.
