Vucinic: We are exercising the democratic right to dismiss the mayor of Zubin Potok

One of the initiators for starting the petition to dismiss the mayor in Zubin Potok, Srdjan Vucinic, stated that citizens signing the petition wanted to exercise their democratic right to peacefully and democratically remove the leader of this municipality, who, as he said, lacked legitimacy to lead, as he had been elected with only around a hundred votes.

"There are several important things I will mention today, and that is, first of all, we started signing the petition to dismiss the mayor, who, in the end, according to my opinion and the opinion of the majority of Zubin Potok citizens, was not democratically elected. He is not our mayor. We will use our democratic right to peacefully and democratically remove him. The fact is that the current mayor was elected with about a hundred votes, indicating that he lacks the legitimacy to represent and lead our municipality the way we would like. Here today, we have a good turnout; you saw that there was a crowd this morning, and the signing is still ongoing. We have about 7,000 voters on the voter list, and we need to collect 1,300 signatures, and I am sure we will collect many more", Vucinic said for Kosovo Online.

He added that the petition signing would last for three more days and hoped to gather a sufficient number of signatures even before that time expired, considering the significant interest of the citizens.

"It's important to say that today we were prevented from collecting signatures in any public institution. As you can see, we are doing this in a public space, in front of the Sports Hall, where citizens are signing the petition. Fortunately, the weather is nice, so there won't be any problems. We will exercise our right and simply say that this is our municipality, and it should be represented by those people who are democratically elected, with a vast majority of votes", Vucinic emphasized.

The signing of the petition for the removal of the mayor in Zubin Potok began this morning at 9 o'clock, and the citizens of this municipality can exercise their democratic right in front of the Sports Hall at five stands. The petition signing for the removal of the mayor in this municipality will last for three more days.
