Xhymshiti: Ambassador Hill is promoting a fabricated narrative against the Albanian people

Journalist and photojournalist Vudi Xhymshiti accused the US ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, of showing complete disrespect for the truth and history of the Balkans, regarding his statement a few days ago regarding the NATO bombing of Serbia, in which the US ambassador sent his sincere condolences and said that he knew that the people of Serbia could not forget that terrible time. Xhymshiti states that Hill promotes a narrative against the Albanian people in this way.

In an author's text for Koha, Xhymshiti stated that Hill's apology "is an insult to all victims and survivors, and a slap in the face to all those who fought for justice and peace in the region." He characterized his action as "an act of a coward."

"Indirectly trying to exonerate Serbia, Hill shows complete disrespect for the truth and history of the Balkans. His tweet does not acknowledge the role that NATO played in stopping genocide and ethnic cleansing in the region and represents an act of cowardice that tries to justify the forces of hatred and violence in Serbia," Xhymshiti believes.

The Albanian journalist considers Christopher Hill's statement "a betrayal of the value of justice."

"Hill's tweet encourages and supports Serbian chauvinism and fascism. With his tweet, Hill distorts the truth and promotes a fabricated narrative against the Albanian people and other ethnic groups in the region. It is unacceptable for an American ambassador to support such actions and it represents a betrayal of the values of justice, human rights, and democracy for which the US claims to uphold," Xhymshiti wrote.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is accused in the text of journalist Xhymshiti of "fascism politics" as the former Minister of Information of Slobodan Milosevic.

"The situation in the Balkans is still unstable, and Serbia is aligning itself with Russia's aggressive foreign policy and is fueling inter-ethnic tensions throughout the region. The US and the EU must firmly oppose Serbian aggression and work towards peace and justice for all people in the Balkans," Xhymshiti believes.
