Zeqiri: External factors are not the cause of Kosovo’s political crisis
Analyst Adrian Zeqiri assessed that the cause of the political crisis in Kosovo is entirely internal in nature and does not stem from external factors.
Zeqiri stated that the political deadlock is the result of the stubbornness of political parties and a lack of democratic culture when it comes to forming governing coalitions, Klan Kosova reports.
“I think it is obvious that the crisis in Kosovo is self-inflicted. It is not the result of any external force; it is entirely a matter of political stubbornness. On a continent where governing coalitions are the ABC of political practice for every political party, there is one country where a governing coalition cannot be formed. This demonstrates a profound lack of democratic culture and an understanding of democracy and good governance,” he said.
Zeqiri emphasized that good governance is impossible if a political party is unable to build even the minimum level of consensus necessary to establish institutions.
“There can be no good governance if a political party is not capable of creating at least the minimum consensus required to form a governing coalition. Shared governance among different parties with different political platforms is the most normal thing that can happen in a mature democracy,” Zeqiri said.
