Ibrahimi: Let's launch an initiative to form a Community of Albanian Municipalities in North Macedonia
The general secretary of the Alternative party in North Macedonia, Zeqirja Ibrahimi, called on the Albanian parties there to launch an initiative to create a Community of Albanian Municipalities.
Ibrahimi said on Facebook that Albanians in North Macedonia should not demand anything more or less than a community like the one that the international community was asking Kosovo to form - the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities.
"At a time when Kosovo is close to the final agreement for the normalization of relations with Serbia and when every Western diplomat who comes to Pristina repeats the refrain 'you should form the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities in Kosovo!', the question that must be asked is why the Albanian parties in North Macedonia, do not launch an initiative to establish a Community of Albanian Municipalities in North Macedonia with the powers that the international community wants the Community of Serb-majority municipalities in Kosovo to have - nothing more. That's all," Ibrahimi wrote on Facebook.
He added that since the West was looking for the formation of a Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, the formation of a Community of Municipalities in North Macedonia was in line with Western values.
According to him, it is something that can unite all Albanian parties, including Alternative, which does not have a municipality.
"Perhaps this is how we will get to the topic of linguistic reciprocity between Albanian in North Macedonia and Serbian language in Kosovo," the general secretary of the Alternative party Zeqirija Ibrahimi concluded.
