Albanian immigrant on the journey to Great Britain: Through Serbia to France, and then 12 hours in a boat
An immigrant who went to Great Britain from Albania told the details of the trip, and how he had spent 12 hours in a rubber boat off the coast of France, Reporteri reports.
"I came here to Great Britain on March 1 this year. I came by boat, like everyone else. From one place in Albania, I went to Tirana, through Kosovo, Serbia, and all the countries in a row to France. In France I found a contact, it was a group where Kurdish Albanians gathered. I started with the idea that I would find a connection with the Kurds because they hold that part of the road. I found a contact and left," he told to Euronews Albania.
As he added, the journey from France to Britain had been very difficult and risky.
"From France to Great Britain, it was a very difficult journey, 12 hours in a boat; there were 35 of us, and there were no children, only men. The British police found us on the open sea when we entered British waters. They stopped us in Dover, gave us other clothes, and food, and sent us to the Immigration center. I stayed there for four months. Then I got out and worked in construction," he pointed out.
