Beqiri: Kosovo citizens mostly use their winter vacations to visit European cities

Fatmire Beqiri, a representative of the travel agency "Veneta Travel" from Pristina, says that during the winter months and the New Year holidays, citizens of Kosovo mostly use the time to visit various European cities, while Bulgaria and France are popular destinations for skiing enthusiasts.

"We now have some new direct flights, for example to Amsterdam, but many people from Pristina and Kosovo live in Germany, and a lot of citizens travel there for visits," Beqiri says.

One of the favorite destinations for winter holidays is Bulgaria, with popular ski resorts such as Bansko and Borovets.

"Many people travel to Bulgaria, and we offer it. Departures are from Skopje, but if it's a group, we organize the trip from here," Beqiri explains.

For ski lovers, she adds, France has also become an important destination.

"The ski resorts are great, and we have been making bookings for a long time. They are really beautiful destinations," Beqiri says.

Although Turkey is primarily more attractive during the summer, she says there is also significant interest in traveling to this country during the winter period.

"Turkey and Istanbul are also popular in winter. Turkey, as we know, offers an all-inclusive service, and people are used to having everything when they travel there," she emphasizes.

Regarding the New Year holidays, Beqiri says that the citizens of Kosovo are increasingly planning their own trips.

"They go wherever they want. They look for offers for a destination and get them. In the past, when visas were required, we organized group trips, and it was hard to travel to places like Italy. Now, they choose on their own because they don't have visa problems. They travel wherever they want," Beqiri says.
