Citizens of Skopje above all wish for health in 2026

Citizens of Skopje in 2026 above all wish health for their loved ones, as well as that what was started in 2025 will be successfully completed in the coming year.

Older citizens, however, first think of those closest and dearest to them.

“I am constantly with my grandson, and I wish him all the best,” one woman says, extending her best wishes to older people as well.

Older residents of Skopje we spoke with agree that the health of grandchildren and children is the most important thing.

“Many of my wishes have been fulfilled. My personal health, above all. And I have many gifts and wishes for my daughter and son. I have a son, five grandchildren, and I gave everything to them. Everything that happened to us or that we achieved in 2025 was successful,” says one elderly Macedonian woman, explaining why she is seeing off the year satisfied.

“You can film this, today I didn’t take my walking stick, I’m using an umbrella. First health, and then everything else will come in turn, whether we achieve it ourselves or wish it from Santa Claus, for those who believe, or from the Lord God, depending on who believes in what. My wishes were fulfilled in 2025, so I wish for them to be fulfilled in 2026 as well,” the woman said.

There are also those who are carrying many unfulfilled wishes from the old year into the new one.

“Well, I think 2026 should be better,” one man says.

“I wish everyone health and peace. That’s the most important thing. And I think the next year should be more successful. There are all kinds of people who think differently, but it should be better. People are becoming aware of certain things and are demanding their rights. And changes, we are all for changes. So let’s see what will happen with the new changes,” the man said.
