Djokic: Every year more and more tourists in Gracanica, especially during Easter

The director of the Tourist Organization of Gracanica, Sandra Djokic, stated that the municipality records an increase in the number of tourists every year, both from the region and foreign visitors, with the highest numbers during major Orthodox holidays such as Easter.

"We can see on the streets of Gracanica, near the monastery, that we have a large number of visitors, from the region as well as foreign tourists. Practice shows that every year we record an increasing number of visitors, and I believe that this year we also have a higher number compared to the previous one," Djokic told Kosovo Online.

According to her, most guests come to Gracanica for religious tourism, which is why major Orthodox holidays are of particular importance.

"When major Orthodox holidays are observed, we also record a large number of visitors here," Djokic added.

She emphasizes that during Easter, tourists can attend liturgies and celebrate the holiday together with local residents in a spirit of togetherness.

For the residents of Gracanica, as she points out, Easter brings hope and faith in a better tomorrow, while visitors have the opportunity to experience the holiday in a special way.

"For people who live here, Easter brings hope and faith in a better tomorrow and shows our perseverance. On the other hand, those who come here can truly feel the spirit of the local residents and our way of celebrating, and experience Easter as a holiday in a different way," Djokic concluded.
