Patriarch Porfirije arrives at the Pec Patriarchate to celebrate Easter
The Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Porfirije, arrived today on Good Friday at the Pec Patriarchate, where he will celebrate Easter together with the faithful.
He was welcomed at the Pec Patriarchate by the abbess of the monastery, Mother Haritina, along with the nuns, clergy from Pec, and the abbot of the Monastery of the Holy Archangels, Father Mihailo, as well as numerous believers.
The Patriarch will serve the liturgy on Holy Saturday and on Easter at the Pec Patriarchate, while on Easter Monday he will officiate the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy at the Visoki Decani Monastery.
Patriarch Porfirije also spent Easter in Kosovo last year.
Also present at the Pec Patriarchate is Milena Parlic, Assistant Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
Upon his arrival, the Patriarch paid homage to the holy relics of his predecessors—Serbian archbishops and patriarchs.
At 4:00 PM, the Vespers service will be held, including the ceremonial presentation of the Holy Shroud.
