EULEX: All documents submitted, Kosovo authorities have jurisdiction

In December 2018, EULEX handed over the police, prosecutor's and court case files and supporting evidence to the Kosovo authorities and they are now responsible for all cases, they stated from that Mission when asked by Radio KiM why the investigation into the murder of the boys Ivan Jovoviv and Panta Dakic was suspended and the wounding of four more children from Gorazdevac, 20 years ago today.

"EULEX handed over 495 police files on organized crime cases, 434 war crimes case files, missing persons case files, case files on which only EULEX worked and over 1,400 prosecutor's case files," stated the EULEX's response to Radio KiM.

The Mission adds that after the completion of the handover process, the competent Kosovo authorities have full responsibility for the case files and accompanying evidence handed over to them.

Five years after it was handed over to the Kosovo judicial authorities, it is not known what happened to the material in the case of the murder of Serbian boys in Bistrica, and whether the case will be reopened, reminds Radio KiM.

Earlier today, the father of the murdered Panta, Milisav Dakic, told reporters that no one is informing the families and called on international and domestic institutions to get involved in solving this case.

EULEX closed the case in 2011 due to, as they stated, a lack of evidence.
