Lucic: Telekom Serbia is successfully fighting to survive and operate in Kosovo
Vladimir Lucic, the CEO of "Telekom Serbia," says that regarding the company's operations in Kosovo, the situation is currently better, but that they remain cautious because it usually happens that when they resist one pressure, the Pristina administration devises something else to exert pressure again.
Lucic mentioned on TV Prva that Telekom Serbia, as the largest Serbian company in Kosovo, was currently successfully fighting to survive and operate without problems.
"The situation is better. They periodically exert pressure on us. First, in August, they tried to disconnect us, then, when they failed to disconnect us, they started harassing us, trying to charge us with some past fines. But with the help of the international community, we managed to reject that part, so now it seems stable," Lucic said.
However, he emphasizes that they always remain cautious because, usually, when Telekom Serbia manages to prevent one pressure, Kurti's administration comes up with something else.
"They embarrassed themselves in August and showed that Telekom Serbia, as the largest Serbian company, bothers them down there, but for now, we are successfully fighting to survive and operate smoothly," he said.
Commenting on the recent screening of the film "Heroes of Halyard" in the US Congress, Lucic reminded that it was the first Serbian film shown in the American Congress and added that this operation was well-known in expert American circles.
"It is even studied at their military academy. I am glad that we made the film and that it was excellently received from the American side. That event shows that we were allies and that the Serbian people always sacrificed. It is a true story, and I'm sorry that this story was swept under the rug, but the truth eventually came out, and I'm glad that with this film, we immortalized that mission to rescue American pilots," Lucic said.
The Director of Telekom Serbia also emphasized that the entire Serbia would be covered by the 5G network by 2027 and added that they were looking at which services to apply with their strategic partner, "Vodafone."
As he also highlighted, it has been announced that at EXPO 2027, it will be possible to drive vehicles that are automatically controlled, and in that sense, today's way of driving will be outdated and old-fashioned in a few years.
"The entire Serbia will be covered by the 5G network by 2027. EXPO is an opportunity to promote our company," Lucic said.
