Stefan and Milos Stojanovic from Gotovusa in the municipality of Strpce emphasize that receiving gold medals for bravery, the "Milos Obilic" medal for exceptional courage and personal heroism, presented to them by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, on the occasion of Statehood Day, is a great honor and motivation for them to continue to live honorably in their homeland.

Milos Stojanovic emphasizes that it is an honor for him to receive the Gold Medal for Bravery and notes that it also belongs to all the other young men who went with him and Stefan that day to get Christmas branches.

"I am honored to receive this recognition, and I thank the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, for awarding me this honor. Although the occasion was not the best, we are glad that someone remembered us and presented us with this recognition. Everyone living in Kosovo should receive this recognition, especially my friends who were with me and Stefan gathering Christmas branches that day and who were also endangered like us, except that we were wounded. This, besides the honor bestowed upon us, is another motivation for us to continue living honorably and honestly in our homeland," Milos said.

He emphasizes that this recognition will have a special place in his home.

Stefan and Milos Stojanovic were wounded at the entrance to their village when they returned from cutting the Christmas branches on January 6, 2023. They were shot at from a vehicle by Azem Kurtaj. Stefan suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder, while Milos was wounded in the hand.
