Professor of European integration Dritero Arifi believes that the dialogue with Serbia should not resume without a change in the European Union's approach. According to him, Kosovo must implement the agreements it has committed to, but it also needs to change its approach to the process and communicate directly with the European Union.

He noted that technical issues have largely been resolved and that the focus should now be on implementing the agreements reached, Kosovo Press reported.

“There is no problem with appointing someone like Agron Bajrami to handle the technical dialogue. As for the political aspect, Prime Minister Albin Kurti either does not understand or refuses to understand the reality of the situation. In my view, the dialogue with Serbia no longer makes sense. It should not even take place until certain issues have been clarified,” Arifi stressed, adding that dialogue with the EU must continue.

He reiterated that Kosovo must be clear, determined, open and honest with the European Union.

“We will implement all the agreements we have committed to, but in cooperation with the European Union. Our approach and narrative must change, especially following the Special Court's decision. We have concluded the technical issues, or at least that is what I believe. At the very least, the steps taken in the north are a settled matter. All that remains is to implement the agreement,” Arifi stressed.
