Momirovic: Pristina puts pressure on the Albanian population with videos, but people love a Serbian snack called “Smoki”

At a time when barriers to the flow of goods are being torn down, temporary institutions in Pristina very often set up new ramps for Serbian products. Videos showing bullets in “Plazma” packages instead of biscuits are just a continuation of the policy of hatred towards the Serbs, Minister Tomislav Momirovic says for RTS.

Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade of Serbia, Tomislav Momirovic, said that Pristina's ban on Serbian products and videos in which there were bullets in packages instead of biscuits and chips, was just a continuation of the policy of hatred towards the Serbs.

"We focused on defending our people, our heritage in Kosovo and Metohija - our country Serbia. They failed to cause a pogrom; to persecute our people," Momirovic said, emphasizing that Belgrade had stopped the affirmation of so-called independent Kosovo.

Asked to comment on the campaign to boycott Serbian products in Kosovo, which had led to bullets being inserted into packages of “Plazma” and chips, Momirovic said:

"They put pressure on the Albanian population, which likes our products, people like our snack Smoki," Momirovic says.

He points out that many companies from central Serbia sell their products in Kosovo and notes that the volume of trade is not easy to accurately calculate because the amount going to the north and the amount going to the south is not uniform.

"It is more than 500 million euros; it is very difficult to calculate it precisely. We do not export to Kosovo and Metohija, but the fact is that the people of Kosovo and Metohija, as well as people in the region, are interested in our products," Momirovic said.

The market inspection in Kosovo banned Serbian oil because, as they say, the weight does not correspond to the prescribed one. The minister explains that it is pure abuse.

"It's just a continuation of the political boycott. They didn't absolutely prohibit the sale of our oil, but they withdrew a certain contingent of one company from sale and ordered that the goods of that company should not be sold in the future. It's a pure abuse that we have to fight against," Momirovic said.

He points out that there is a lot of nervousness in Pristina and that this is not accidental, and that Serbia insists on connecting in the Western Balkans, which, he notes, confirms the large trade surplus with the countries of the region.

"We have an economic interest in the region, peace is our policy; stability - we insist on that. We want to be and we are a key factor in peace and stability in the region, and that's why the president and prime minister have great authority," Momirovic said.

Today is a meeting of Serbia Progressive Party ministers with President Vucic

Momirovic notes that "the state is waging a difficult political struggle to preserve Kosovo and Metohija and criticizes the atmosphere during the parliamentary debate on this issue."

"When Serbian Progressive Party came to power, we really stopped the affirmation of that fake state and strengthened the position of our people," Momirovic said.

He announced a meeting of Serbian Progressive Party ministers with the president of the republic for today at 12:15 p.m.

"Yesterday, we had a meeting with the Prime Minister, where we reacted very negatively to certain events in the Parliament. While the President of the Republic fought and fought for our people in Kosovo, today everyone knows that the Brussels Agreement is the best agreement since the Dayton Agreement; that we stopped the "Operation Storm" in Kosovo and the new pogroms - did we have support?" Momirovic asked.
