Nikola and Tamara Jankovic, the parents of Lazar, the thousandth baby born at the Pasjane maternity ward since 2015, whose godfather will be Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, expressed their satisfaction with the honor the President had bestowed on them by becoming the godfather to their son, and that he had received them in Belgrade today.

The Jankovics thanked the state of Serbia and the Office for Kosovo and Metohija for all the help, and they emphasized the importance of the Pasjane hospital for all the people in the Kosovo Pomoravlje region.

Tamara Jankovic, the mother of little Lazar, expressed her gratitude to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, for giving her son his name and for promising to baptize him.

"We are very proud, and it is a great honor for us. We couldn't believe it was real, but when we realized it was, we were overjoyed. All the people in Kosovo are very happy and proud," Jankovic said.

She especially thanked the Gnjilane Health Center for their care and the staff at the Pasjane maternity ward, which, she said, was fantastic.

She stated that she was proud of the name the President had chosen for her son.

"A heroic, true Serbian name," she said.

Father Nikola expressed his satisfaction with visiting the President of Serbia today with his family.

"We are honored by our President, our godfather. We did not expect this, but thank God everything turned out well," the father of little Lazar said.

He emphasized the significance of the Pasjane hospital for all the people in the Kosovo-Pomoravlje region.

He also added that the assistance provided by the Office for Kosovo and Metohija for every newborn baby was of great importance.

"I would like to thank Petar Petkovic, who truly helps all of us," Nikola said.

Jankovic noted that they had no intention of leaving Kosovo.

"As long as we live here, we are doing well," he concluded.
