The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said that many reforms and habits would have to be changed in the matter of renewable energy sources, Pink reports.

He said this at the opening of the Regional Conference "Possibilities of investing in renewable energy sources in the Western Balkans", where, at the very beginning, he greeted his distinguished guests, Albanian PM Edi Rama, Macedonian PM Dimitar Kovacevski, Montenegrin PM Dritan Abazovic and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zoran Tegeltija.

"We will have to work in a quite different way. Our Norwegian friends have short-term, medium-term proposals, they have set priorities. Priorities have been set for what we have to do. There are no easy or simple decisions, but they will have to be implemented, because we will face the right disaster," Vucic said.

As he said, it was necessary to make great progress in the area of the energy sector.

"It will be very difficult to maintain fiscal stability," Vucic said.

The President said that new interconnectors would have to be built, which was also a great opportunity for foreign investors.

Vucic thanked everyone for their support and added that he believes that they can do many things together.

"We should spread the ideas not only to the three countries here, but also to everyone in the region, and we have to work together to be ready for the next winter," Vucic says.

He added that he believes that we will manage to reach some possibility to find some solutions for joint solutions.

Vucic greeted his Norwegian friends and all foreign investors, telling them that "we have 1,000 ideas" and the investors are more than welcome.
"We will survive this winter, but no one knows what will happen next. We will have to suffer, but the next one will be much more difficult, and it can be even worse - the President said stressing that we must change the energy structure, which in the future must include many more sources of renewable energy," he added.

As published on the Instagram profile "buducnostsrbijeav", Vucic pointed out that the new energy policy, based on the use of renewable energy sources, is a key topic today, not only in Serbia but also in the region, Europe and the whole world.

"We are investing enormous efforts and funds to ensure energy stability and efficiency, which is of priority importance for all our citizens and economies. In order to be successful in this, all of us in the region must work together, with the support of our Norwegian friends and, I hope, many investors. Thank you for coming to Belgrade and I expect that we will find better solutions for a better future together".

The special envoy of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norway for energy, Andreas Eriksen, addressed the audience and emphasized that he was looking forward to the fact that President Vucic would visit Norway in two weeks.

At the Regional Conference, which is organized by the embassies of the Kingdom of Norway in Belgrade and Sarajevo, in cooperation with the Nordic Business Alliance, the Business Association Norway-BiH and Norwegian partners for cooperation in the field of energy, the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, the Prime Minister of North Macedonia Dimitar Kovacevski, Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazovic and Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zoran Tegeltija.
