Belgrade to host the largest international gathering in Serbia’s history
The first International Planning Meeting (IPM) for international participation in the Specialized Expo 2027 Belgrade will be held on June 10 and 11 in the Serbian capital, bringing together delegations from over 140 countries across all continents—from Europe and Asia to Africa, Latin America, and the distant Pacific.
With more than 350 high-ranking officials, including ministers, state secretaries, directors of key national institutions, and ambassadors, the IPM represents the largest international and diplomatic gathering ever held in Serbia.
“Thanks to our role as host of Expo 2027, we now have the opportunity to welcome the largest gathering of state delegations ever hosted in our country—an event that clearly reflects Serbia’s growing international standing,” stated Dusan Borovcanin, Director of Expo 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade.
According to Borovcanin, this major international meeting (IPM) in Belgrade is not only a crucial organizational step in the preparations for Expo 2027, but also a testament to Serbia’s readiness to welcome the world.
The event will bring together representatives who lead key policy areas in their respective countries, including foreign trade, economic development, sports, tourism, culture, innovation, education, and youth, as well as representatives from international organizations such as the United Nations and BIE Belgrade.
The IPM offers a vital opportunity for delegations to gain in-depth insight into the theme and concept of EXPO 2027, the master plan, construction phases, logistics and operations, as well as digital platforms for participants.
“As for Expo 2027, 112 countries have already confirmed their participation. This is truly an unprecedented response within just a few months since the official invitation was extended. Expo 2027 Belgrade has officially become the fastest-filled Expo in history,” Borovcanin emphasized.
