Unknown individuals threw a Molotov cocktail at a vehicle belonging to Slavisa Slavkovic from Rabovac, near Lipljan, on Tuesday night in an apparent attempt to set it on fire. According to his son Milos, who heard the explosion, the vehicle was parked approximately two meters from the entrance to the family home.

Speaking to Kosovo Online, Milos Slavkovic said he reacted quickly and managed to extinguish the fire.

"At around 2:15 a.m. last night, several individuals entered our yard, threw a Molotov cocktail at the vehicle and set it on fire. I heard the explosion. In the panic, I didn't know what to do, and I didn't want to wake my parents immediately, but I reacted in time, put out the fire and prevented a much greater disaster," he said.

He added that he was unable to identify those responsible because everything happened very quickly.

"We notified the competent authorities, and the police conducted a crime scene investigation. Personally, I wasn't frightened. My family is certainly worried because similar things have happened before. We've experienced fires in the past, and when we were displaced it was catastrophic, but as for me, if anything, this has only strengthened my resolve," Milos said.

His father, Slavisa, said he was not afraid but admitted that the incident had caused concern, adding that he had no intention of leaving Rabovac.

He stressed that a vehicle bearing Serbian license plates should not be a problem for anyone, recalling that the family had previously been the target of other incidents.

"They stole our cows, they set our barley field on fire and it burned completely, and there have been many thefts in the village. I don't think Serbian license plates should bother anyone, especially since vehicles with RKS plates travel to Serbia as well—that's what the agreement provides for. I didn't steal this car... All we can do now is hope the police will find those responsible," he said, noting that no one had been held accountable for the previous incidents.

According to the Slavkovic family, Kosovo Police officers collected evidence during the crime scene investigation, including glass and plastic bottles filled with gasoline and stuffed with paper napkins.

Slavisa Slavkovic is the father of ten children, four of whom still live in Rabovac.

Rabovac, a village near Lipljan, was once home to 56 Serbian households. Today, only about 20 Serbian families remain.
