Vasic: Bacevic's life was in danger, after the examination he was returned to the cell; the doctor asked that he stay in a hospital

The health condition of Svetomir Bacevic has seriously deteriorated, to the extent that his life depends on referral to hospital treatment, his lawyer Dejan A. Vasic tells Kosovo Online.

As Vasic said, his client had been examined on two occasions yesterday and the day before yesterday at the Clinical Hospital Center in Pristina, after which he had been returned to his cell.

"The doctor who examined Svetomir recommends that he must stay in the hospital in order to monitor the further course of the disease. Given that it is the weekend and that there are no institutional conditions, on behalf of Svetomir Bacevic and his worried family, I am making a public appeal that my client be allowed, as soon as possible, treatment in the Pristina Hospital because of the danger to his life," Vasic appealed and added.

"According to the doctor's reports, his lungs are full of water, his blood pressure is disturbed and he has a fever and fainting spells," the lawyer explained.

Let us remind you that Svetomir Bacevic was arrested in December 2020, and in September 2022 he was sentenced to five years in prison for an alleged war crime against the civilian population in the village of Belo Polje in Pec.

He was suspected of allegedly trying to kidnap his neighbor from Belo Polje near Pec, and although that woman said in court that she did not know Svetomir and that he was not the person from the indictment, the judges still found him guilty.
