Weapons with silencers and ammunition seized in a vehicle from Pristina in Merdare

Officials of the Serbian Customs Administration at the Merdare administrative crossing today seized 45 firearms with silencers and ammunition in a passenger vehicle from Pristina, reports Euronews.

The customs officers, in accordance with the law, handed over the weapons, the vehicle and two persons with Pristina identity documents that were in the car to the further jurisdiction of the police and prosecutor's office.

This news was shared on the "X" social network by the State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense of Serbia, Nemanja Starovic.

"Two Kosovo Albanians from Pristina (30 and 22 years old) were arrested today by the Serbian police trying to smuggle weapons supplies across the administrative line at the Merdare point. The police seized 45 pistols, 31 silencers and several pieces of 100s ammunition hidden in their vehicle," Starovic said.
