Gracanica residents: We are tired of elections, but we vote because we want all of us to remain here
Residents of Gracanica told Kosovo Online reporters after casting their ballots that they are tired of frequent election processes, but that they continue to vote because they want peace and a return to normal life.
Todorka Slavkovic said that after the elections she expects new jobs, support for young families, and the return of displaced persons.
"As always, I expect the survival and continued presence of the Serbs. I hope the displaced will return to us and that we will remain on our ancestral land. I also hope for a better future for young people, with jobs, apartments and houses, because we have nowhere else to go. I have never been displaced and I do not plan to leave Kosovo. My wish is for all of us to stay. If only all those who were displaced could return," Slavkovic said.
She added that she always takes part in elections.
"It is our civic right," she said.
Sinisa Djordjevic said that everything that has happened over the past period has left a mark on the people, but that he expects a return to normal life after the elections.
"Expectations are high. I believe that everything we have gone through over the past several months has left a mark on the Serbs. I believe that this will eventually come to an end and that we will return to the normal routines of everyday life," Djordjevic said.
Goran Jorgic said that people are tired of elections, but that they expect peace.
"We are certainly tired of these election processes. They have somehow become part of our daily lives. What we expect is simply peace," Jorgic said.
