After ten years since the signing of the Brussels Agreement and five years since the draft statute of the Community of Serb Municipalities was created, we are for the first time able to hear from EU officials, who are guarantors of the signed documents, as well as the US, a clear stance on the necessity of forming the CSM, which Belgrade insists on. The formation of the CSM, as agreed upon in the four signed documents to which Pristina committed, is our red line, Danijela Vujicic, a member of the Management Team for the CSM, whose draft statute was presented on May 2 in Brussels, said in an interview for Novosti.

She emphasizes that President Aleksandar Vucic highlighted that the CSM would provide security for the Serbian people in Kosovo because these areas would have organs in the form of an assembly and council and that the Kosovo authorities would not be able to abolish payment transactions, claiming that they can do so today.

Do you believe that the CSM will be formed given Pristina's constant obstruction?

We are witnessing sharp opposition from Pristina to the text of the draft Statute, especially Article 2, which refers to the territory of the CSM and its symbols, and Article 16, which implies that the CSM manages public property and goods, infrastructure, and natural resources. They object to the provision that the CSM receives money from the budget of Serbia, as well as Article 54, which concerns the fact that the CSM is entitled to goods in general use - roads, bridges, tunnels, railways, parks...

What was the meeting in Brussels like, and what was Kurti saying to you?

Before and after the introductory presentation I gave, which was a 30-minute format that the EU provided and in which it was impossible to present each point separately, I asked for more time due to the seriousness of the presentation. Kurti reacted rudely and arrogantly, asking, "So, how much time do you need?" angry and upset because of the President's previous greeting to me and my colleague Belovic - where are my Serbian women from the Serbian Kosovo and Metohija? Kurti and Bislimi were heckling and laughing mockingly. I decided to continue because I know I am not alone and I represent my people from Kosovo and Metohija. The hosts were silent. President Vucic reacted in such a way that there was silence in the room. In response to Kurti's remark that I am a Serbian official, a member of parliament, trying to insinuate that I belong to another state, President Vucic replied: "I am here your president, too!"

Do you believe that the international community is giving support to Kurti?

He is not alone in his anti-Serbian actions and moves. I am convinced that President Vucic is standing alone against all, but stronger and more determined in his defense of Serbian interests than anyone's intentions or manipulations against us.

Do you think that Kurti will carry out his intention to introduce Albanian mayors into the municipalities in northern Kosovo and Metohija on May 28th?

There is no doubt that Pristina is ready to provoke new conflicts and the expulsion of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija. Recently, Kurti confirmed again that he does not want peace but conflicts, with a unilateral demand contrary to dialogue to open the main bridge over the Ibar River to traffic, which has been condemned by all international representatives. Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija want peace and to live on their own, next to their Albanian neighbors, but irresponsible politicians from Pristina do not contribute to that.
