Berset: It is necessary to find a solution for northern Kosovo

Swiss President Alain Berset stated today, ahead of the start of the European Political Community Summit in Granada, that his country desired a peaceful and stable Western Balkans.

When asked about the situation between Serbia and Kosovo, Berset mentioned that he had held discussions with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in New York and had the opportunity to meet with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti. He said that he had made it clear to both of them that a solution must be found for northern Kosovo.

"For Switzerland, where many citizens from that region live, it is crucial that the Western Balkans remain peaceful and stable. Switzerland is ready to assist in stabilizing the region," he said.
