Chollet spoke with Kurti: We welcome Kosovo's decision to accept the European proposal

The Special Adviser of the State Department, Derek Chollet, spoke with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and welcomed Kosovo's decision to accept the European proposal for the normalization of relations with Serbia.

Chollet stated on Twitter that the proposal needed to be implemented.

"I talked with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti. We welcome the decision of Kosovo to accept the EU proposal for the normalization of relations with Serbia through EU-facilitated dialogue. Now we need the implementation to secure significant benefits for both countries," Chollet said.

The US Ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, reacted to Chollet's tweet and said that the US would support the next steps in the European proposal.

"We will fully support the next steps on the EU proposal. This progress is significant for Kosovo as we support its full integration into the Euro-Atlantic and international structures," Hovenier emphasized.
