Two Serbs from Osojane remanded in custody for up to 30 days
The Basic Court in Pristina has ordered that two Serbs from Osojane, Zikica and Grujica Belosevic, be remanded in custody for 30 days, attorney Milos Delevic confirmed.
A detention hearing was held today at the Basic Court in Pristina following the prosecution’s request that the two suspects be remanded in custody.
Attorneys Milos Delevic and Dejan Vasic said after the hearing that Zikica and Grujica Belosevic were suspected of the killing of 19 Albanian civilians in the village of Padaliste. They also argued that there were no grounds for pretrial detention and that the defense had proposed alternative measures—house arrest or bail—with guarantees that the suspects would remain at liberty pending trial and comply with all court summonses.
The Kosovo Police arrested Zikica and Grujica Belosevic yesterday on suspicion of committing a war crime. Obrad Tijanic was also arrested with them but was subsequently released.
