Citizens of Pristina: Sending members of the KSF to Gaza fulfills a moral and international obligation
Kosovo has confirmed that it will participate in the mission in Gaza, but at this moment it is still not known exactly how many members of the Kosovo Security Force will be sent or when. Citizens of Pristina see their announced participation primarily as the fulfillment of a moral and international obligation.
“It is very positive for us, it is good progress for Kosovo. The soldiers are ready and I think they will succeed. We have an obligation to return the favor to the international community,” Sabit Blaca from Pristina said.
One citizen said that the participation of the Kosovo Security Force in Gaza represents a step forward for Kosovo.
“It is a kind of achievement, progress, trust. If you want to advance, you must enter the international arena and international organizations, you must participate,” the citizen emphasized.
For Sejdi Lapaj, the participation of the Kosovo Security Force within the International Stabilization Forces in Gaza is also progress.
Elmi Bajraktari describes it as a positive step for Kosovo and believes it is appropriate for Kosovo soldiers to stand alongside the Americans in this mission.
The International Stabilization Forces for the Gaza Strip are expected to number around 20,000 soldiers, of whom 8,000 have been pledged by Indonesia, and a general from that country will serve as deputy commander of these forces. In addition, 12,000 police officers are expected to contribute to security in the area, most of whom are expected to come from Egypt and Jordan.
