US Congressman Eric Swalwell has stated that the Serbs in Kosovo deserved to have a voice in the Kosovo Government, and he emphasized that violence against them was unacceptable.

Swalwell, on the social media platform "X," ahead of the meeting between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Brussels, mentioned that he looked forward to their meeting aimed at discussing the normalization of relations, and he had also commended the EU for hosting the event.

"I look forward to the meeting of the leaders of Serbia and Kosovo in Brussels to discuss the normalization of relations. I applaud the EU for hosting President Vucic and Prime Minister Kurti in Brussels to work towards the full implementation of the Serbia-Kosovo normalization agreement," Swalwell emphasized.

He called on the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia to be dedicated to peace and stability.

"Serbs living in Kosovo deserve to have their voice in the government, and violence against them is unacceptable. I urge both leaders to commit to peace and stability in the Western Balkans," Swalwell stated.

He also expressed hope that the "Open Balkan" initiative could serve as a forum for Kosovo's integration into the regional economy.

"I hope that the 'Open Balkan' initiative can serve as a useful forum to integrate Kosovo into the region's economy and increase prosperity for all of its members," Swalwell added.
