Dacic: Kumanovo 2015 was not considered a terrorist act by the EU, but Banjska is - aren't they ashamed?

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, has stated that double standards regarding Serbia can be seen in the fact that the attack by a group of Albanians from Kosovo on Macedonian police in 2015 was not considered a terrorist act, while the events in Banjska are, and even sanctions against Serbia are being demanded because of it.

Dacic says for Kosovo Online that he also raised this issue at the ministerial meeting of regional foreign ministers within the framework of the Berlin Process but that his question went unanswered.

"I spoke precisely about double standards. In 2015, I was the Chairperson-in-Office of the OSCE, and I negotiated with the Macedonian authorities on behalf of the OSCE. At that time, eight Macedonian police officers were killed, and a terrorist group from Kosovo, composed of former KLA members, was blamed for it," Dacic recalled.

He points out that no international officials, including the European Union, characterized it as a terrorist act, even though eight police officers were killed.

Furthermore, Albania and Kosovo have paid all honors to the terrorists from Kumanovo.

"Since Donika Gervalla is talking about how Serbia obstructs Kosovo, violates territorial integrity, and talks about terrorists, I mentioned that in the Cultural Center in Decani, which is named 'Jusuf Gervalla,' after her father, they paid tribute to the terrorist who died in Kumanovo. A monument was erected for him," Dacic said.

He also added that at that time, the Kosovo authorities had given 10,000 euros to each family of the deceased or convicted.

"I asked if they said anything against Pristina back then. How are you not ashamed to talk about it now? Nobody responded to me about that. It is clear to everyone that double standards are at play," Dacic concluded.
