Demaku: Osmani overshadows Kurti by participating in the Board of Peace
Political analyst Armend Demaku assesses that by attending the Board of Peace meeting, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has overshadowed Prime Minister Albin Kurti, especially on the international stage, but adds that the administration of President Donald Trump does not particularly favor Kurti.
Demaku believes that for Kosovo and its positioning it is extremely important that President Vjosa Osmani attended the Board of Peace meeting led by President Trump.
“Mr. Kurti should have been there, but he is now isolated from the Americans. Of course, with this move Vjosa Osmani overshadows Albin Kurti, especially on the international stage. It is clear that a rivalry has been created between Kurti and Osmani, and how desirable she is for Kurti will be seen when a president is proposed,” Demaku told Kosovo Online.
He points out that whenever Kosovo has aligned itself with the United States, it has always gained long-term benefits and guarantees.
“I believe that significant credit here also belongs to the Prime Minister of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, who, it seems, now has good cooperation with President Osmani. It should be added that Kosovo’s membership in the Peace Committee is not exclusively due to Ms. Osmani. Kosovo is an American creation, and it has naturally always been on the agenda of every American administration. It is positive that Ms. Osmani has grown closer to Edi Rama and, of course, this is a joint success,” Demaku concluded.
