Djuric bids farewell to Costa: Serbia remains firmly committed to its European future

Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric bid farewell today to the President of the European Council, António Costa, who concluded his visit to Belgrade.
The send-off at Belgrade Airport was also attended by Serbia’s Head of Mission to the EU, Danijel Apostolovic, and Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Emanuele Giaufret.
Later today, Costa is expected to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, followed by stops in Pristina, Podgorica, and Tirana in the coming days.
Minister Djuric stated that the Serbian delegation, led by President Aleksandar Vucic, held an important and constructive meeting with the EU delegation headed by President of the European Council António Costa.
“Serbia remains firmly on its path toward a European future, with a strong focus on accelerating the integration process and fulfilling the necessary criteria. Opening Cluster 3 as soon as possible would send a strong signal from our European Union partners, demonstrating that cooperation with Serbia is both mutually beneficial and valued,” Djuric wrote on the social media platform X.
He also highlighted Serbia’s strengths on its path toward EU membership.
“In seeking EU membership, Serbia aims not only to secure benefits, but also to actively contribute to the European family—bringing with it economic and infrastructural progress, a centuries-old cultural heritage, a highly skilled workforce, and a key role in promoting regional stability—rightfully claiming its place at the European table,” Djuric concluded.
