Djuric meets with Costa Rica’s Foreign Minister on Belgrade–Pristina Dialogue and the position of the Serbian people

On the sidelines of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States in Antigua and Barbuda, Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric met with the Minister of Foreign and Religious Affairs of the Republic of Costa Rica, Arnoldo André Tinoco.

Minister Djuric conveyed Serbia’s interest in working jointly to intensify political dialogue and overall cooperation, also recalling the long-standing diplomatic relations between the two countries.

He extended an invitation to Minister Tinoco to visit Serbia, emphasizing the need to strengthen communication between the two foreign ministries, the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

With regard to economic relations, Djuric noted that establishing a contractual and legal framework would contribute to enhanced cooperation, adding that there is potential for improvement in the fields of agriculture, knowledge transfer in the use of new technologies, and the ICT sector. Cooperation in the areas of culture and sports was also discussed.

The Serbian Foreign Minister briefed his interlocutor on the situation in Kosovo and the position of the Serbian people, as well as Serbia’s positions on this issue, highlighting Serbia’s readiness to regularly share information on developments in Kosovo and the course of the Belgrade–Pristina dialogue.

On this occasion, Minister Djuric reiterated the invitation for Costa Rica to participate in the specialized Expo 2027 exhibition and expressed hope that the country will confirm its presence at this prestigious event.
