Ambassador of Serbia to the United States, Marko Djuric, stated today that one of the most important tasks for strengthening and revitalizing Serbia was to strengthen the Serbian position in the United States and improve the way it was represented and perceived in Washington.

Djuric wrote on the "X" platform that he was grateful to his colleagues and friends from the Serbian Progressive Party for proposing and electing him for a new mandate in the Serbian Progressive Party, even after three years of absence from active party life. He congratulated the party President, Milos Vucevic, on the election of the new leadership team and wished everyone a successful continuation of the joint struggle and commitment.

"I strive to carry out my current task, entrusted to me by President Vucic, for the benefit of our entire society, regardless of our differences, with a lot of effort to improve the way Serbia is represented and perceived in Washington," Djuric stated.

He added that the highly set goal was to lay the foundation and build mechanisms to strengthen the Serbian position in the United States, and in difficult times, the task of preserving the Serbian position on a series of sensitive issues had left him very little space for anything else.

"I consider this to be one of the strategic, generational tasks of great importance for the strengthening and revitalization of Serbia, and it is important that it continues even when I am no longer in Washington with my family. I am grateful to all those who understand what I am doing and who know me well enough to know that my work and effort here, the specific circumstances, as well as spatial and temporal distance, in no way mean distancing from the ideas and values around which we gathered back in 2008 when we founded the Serbian Progressive Party," Djuric emphasized.

He added that over the decade of trials that exercising power represented by its nature, the Serbian Progressive Party had proven to be indisputably the best available social mechanism for strengthening and revitalizing the homeland. He expressed eagerness for the opportunity to continue the political struggle to change things for the better in Serbia. He pointed out that while working in the service of the state, he took pride in the fact that in many areas, the change for the better was the result of the Serbian Progressive Party and Aleksandar Vucic's decades-long policy.

"I firmly believe that our country and people are in one of the decisive and formative periods of their entire history. It is not a time for settling scores or profiteering on criticism and self-criticism but for even greater effort, enthusiasm, and unity in making and implementing plans for the future. There are no limits to what we can achieve if we unite and make an effort. Warm and brotherly greetings to everyone. Long live Serbia," Djuric concluded.
