Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric emphasized today that Serbia strives to approach every problem responsibly, including the issue of Kosovo, by fighting for its interests and pointing out everything that the Serbian people are going through, especially "in the southern Serbian province."

He reminded that Serbia had fought strongly at the UN regarding the Srebrenica Resolution and against Pristina’s attempt to join the Council of Europe.

He stressed that the ultimate goal of Serbian diplomacy is to present Serbia to the world as a progressing country that has much to offer and fosters good cooperation.

"Serbia is a country completely focused on growth and progress and fully committed to creating a network of friends in the region and the world. To address inherited problems, such as some of the relations, even internally concerning our southern province, in a responsible way, fighting for Serbian interests and pointing out everything our people go through, especially in Kosovo and Metohija," Djuric emphasized.

Djuric highlighted that the Serbian leadership is dedicated to positioning the country globally. As he noted, it faces significant challenges along the way.

"We strive to represent the people of Serbia as best as we can and not to disappoint those who have entrusted us. I am fortunate to have been an ambassador, aware of the challenges we face, and I have strong support from the president and the government to continue improving our ministry. I aim to deliver the best diplomatic outcomes," Djuric stated.

He reminded that the anniversary of the suffering of the Serbian people in Operation Storm had been marked last weekend in Loznica, where, as he said, the sorrow and grief for the lost lives and people killed solely for being Serbian had been evident.

"For the spirit of our people, for the culture of remembrance, for Serbia’s position, it is crucial to commemorate the crimes against the Serbian people and highlight the significant and painful sacrifices our people have made," Djuric stated.

He stressed that nurturing the culture of remembrance is crucial for Serbia’s development, while also working on institutional organization, defense, economy, and relations both internationally and regionally.

"We need to cultivate remembrance while moving forward into the future," Djuric concluded.

Regarding the situation in the Middle East, Minister Djuric noted that it is very serious.

"As a precaution, we have advised our citizens to avoid traveling to war-affected areas and, if necessary, to contact our embassies," he emphasized.

As he said, American elections always involve many twists and political surprises, and the race will remain uncertain until the end.

"These are elections with global political implications. Serbs in the US are more active in political events than before, communicating with their congressmen. There are over a million Serbs in the US, with 137 SOC churches, and I hope they will continue to be active," he said.

"The political course is changing slowly, requiring a lot of patient work and engagement with political actors across the broadest spectrum, and I will strive for the continuation of building the Serbian lobby in America," Djuric noted.
