Serbia's ambassador to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, Aleksandra Djurovic, said that Pristina's application for membership in that organization had not been on the agenda of the session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, RTV reports.
The Committee of Ministers did not put the consideration of Kosovo's request for membership in the Council of Europe on the agenda even in the previous weeks.
On May 12 last year, Kosovo officially applied for membership in the Council of Europe.
According to the rules of this organization, one of the criteria for membership is that the member states give their consent with a two-thirds majority. That would mean 31 out of 46 states vote yes. There are 36 member countries in the Council of Europe that have recognized the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo.
