Dragovic: Banning the dinar deprives Serbian children of the right to education
The head of the school administration in Kosovska Mitrovica, Blazo Dragovic, stated that the implementation of the decision of the Central Bank of Kosovo to abolish payment transactions in dinars in Kosovo could hinder educational work in Kosovo and deprive children of their fundamental rights - the right to education.
"Considering that more than 6,500 employees receive their personal income from the budget of Serbia and that with the assistance of our state of Serbia, preschool, primary, and secondary education is actively provided for more than 17,000 students here, I believe that there is no alternative for this and that this decision has only one goal, and that is the expulsion of the Serbs from these areas," Dragovic said during a meeting of employees in the education system.
He urged the international community to react urgently and prevent further exodus of the Serbs from the territory of Kosovo.
"This decision brings nothing good for Albanians either, and all the harm for the Serbs and other non-Albanians because, I remind you, in our school, children of Bosniak, Roma people, Gorans, and other nationalities are educated," he stated.
He called on the state of Serbia to make maximum efforts and continue supporting the education system in Kosovo.
"Education is one of the pillars of the survival of the Serbs in these areas. And finally, I want to convey to our students, as well as their parents, on behalf of our educational workers, that we will do everything in our power to ensure that our children are not deprived of quality education and upbringing in our schools," Dragovic stated.
