German Embassy: Progress requires stable institutions; It is regrettable that Kosovo is losing time on yet another election
The German Embassy in Pristina, responding to a question from Kosovo Online regarding the dissolution of the assembly, stated that it remains a close partner to Kosovo on its path toward Euro-Atlantic integration, while assessing that a new electoral cycle represents a loss of valuable time, although it is provided for by the Constitution.
In its response to the portal, the embassy emphasized that progress toward Euro-Atlantic integration is possible only with fully functional, stable, and efficient institutions holding a full mandate.
In this context, it assessed that it is regrettable that valuable time is being lost due to yet another round of parliamentary elections.
“Germany remains a close friend and a committed partner to Kosovo on its path toward Euro-Atlantic integration. Progress along this path requires institutions with a full mandate that are functional, stable, and efficient. In this context, it is regrettable that valuable time is being lost due to another round of parliamentary elections,” the embassy stated in its response.
It was also emphasized that such a process is envisaged by the Constitution of Kosovo, and that it is now essential for all necessary steps to be initiated and carried out without delay.
“At the same time, it is important to underline that such a process is provided for by the Constitution of Kosovo. The priority now must be to ensure that all necessary steps are initiated and implemented without delay, in full accordance with the Constitution, applicable laws, and relevant decisions of the Constitutional Court,” the German Embassy in Pristina stated.
