The Government of Serbia adopted a resolution today approving a one-time financial aid payment of 300,000 dinars for individuals currently held in prisons and detention centers in Kosovo.
In the government’s statement, it is noted that these are individuals facing fabricated criminal proceedings for allegedly committed crimes during the 1998–1999 armed conflict against Albanians in the territory of Kosovo, as well as other staged legal cases initiated for the purpose of political persecution.
“In this way, one-time financial assistance in the amount of 300,000 dinars will be provided to individuals who, on these grounds, are being held in prisons and detention units in Kosovo and Metohija, according to records maintained by the Office for Kosovo and Metohija,” the statement said.
It is added that the disbursement of this one-time aid will be carried out as quickly as possible.
