Gujon to Osmani: Mother of God of Ljevisa behind barbed wire and under police protection

Arno Gujon, Director of the Office for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Serbian Government, emphasized that the Mother of God of Ljevisa, burned by Albanian radicals in 2004, remains behind barbed wire and under police protection.

Gujon responded on the platform X to a post by Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, who noted that the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris shines in its full glory once again. He pointed out that the same cannot be said for the Mother of God of Ljevisa.

"Unfortunately, this cannot be said for the Prizren Notre Dame in Kosovo and Metohija, Mother of God of Ljevisa, which was burned by Albanian radicals in 2004. The perpetrators remain at large, and this magnificent 14th-century church is still behind barbed wire and under police protection," Gujon wrote.
