The Vice-President of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Xhavit Haliti, believes that the postponement of the visit of US official Derek Chollet to Pristina is a warning to the Government of Kosovo, Gazeta Blic reports.

Haliti said that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti was deepening the dispute with the West.

"As far as I know, punitive measures were imposed by the EU on Kosovo, and I believe by the USA as well. The message of all US state officials, for the Government of Kosovo, comes through the US Ambassador and the relevant lines in the Embassy. The Government of Kosovo, that is, the Prime Minister, with its obstinacy risks deepening disputes with the West. I never believed that any Government of Kosovo would oppose parental advice coming from the West," Haliti told Gazeta Blic.

According to him, that move from abroad is a warning for Kosovo.

"I think and believe that Kosovo should not become silent, but must implement every advice and proposal that comes from the USA. In this case, I think that the non-appearance of Mr. Derek Chollet at the meeting with the institutions of Kosovo, and especially with the Prime Minister, is a warning for the Government. In my opinion, the message is - implement the agreements you signed, implement the Ohrid commitments, implement the three-point proposal," he said.

The US delegation, led by Under Secretary of the US Department of Defense Derek Chollet, was supposed to visit Kosovo on July 30 and 31, but that visit was postponed, and the reasons for the postponement are unknown.
