The President of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, said today that Prime Minister Albin Kurti had escaped from responsibility, which had led to Kosovo being under the sanctions of the European Union, Reporteri reports.

The parliamentary group of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo gathered representatives of the media and civil society in the parliament today as a part of a series of talks regarding the political situation in Kosovo and possible ways out of the crisis, and Haradinaj thanked everyone for their contribution, saying that it was good for everyone to educate themselves about the challenges that Kosovo was facing.

He added that although politics had not produced results in dealing with challenges, civil society had passed the test.

"We assessed that Russia's unprovoked aggression in Ukraine and the war against international law changed the way of thinking and acting. Our task in Kosovo was how to manage a new situation. With the greatest care, we took a not-very-easy position. We realized that a final recognition in the current circumstances, in our capacity as a party, is impossible. We supported the agreement that resulted from the Franco-German plan," Haradinaj said.

The situation, in which Kosovo found itself, under EU punitive measures, is seen as a consequence of Kurti's escape from responsibility.

"We see what happened recently as an escape from the responsibility of the head of the government, which led us to sanctions," Haradinaj concluded.
