The Serb List reported that the day after the negotiations in Brussels, the regime of Albin Kurti, instead of de-escalation, had continued with escalation and further pressures on the Serbs in the north of Kosovo. As they stated, in Kosovska Mitrovica, "the decision of Kurti's illegal and illegitimate mayor today prohibits the construction of apartments for socially vulnerable families in this city, as well as schools for children from vulnerable categories".

In the announcement of the Serb List, it is emphasized that this decision is also aimed at raising tensions and jeopardizing peace.

"To make the irony even greater, the decision to ban the construction of schools and apartments is made by the mayors of Kurti at a time when Serbian land is being illegally seized in the north of Kosovo and Metohija and illegal bases are being built for Albanian parapolice units, which violates the agreements from Brussels and all laws in force!? This confirms the words of President Vucic yesterday that we were far from de-escalation and that Pristina was not interested in de-escalating the situation in the north," the statement said.

It is added that Kurti's regime with this decision continues with the escalation and the plan of persecuting the Serbs from their hearths.

"After the unfounded arrests, beatings, and intimidation of our people, today he made a decision through his mayor to ban the construction of schools and apartments and thereby sent another message that he does not want the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija. The question arises whether this is Kurti's response to the call of international representatives to de-escalate the situation in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, as well as whether the decision to ban the construction of schools and apartments for vulnerable citizens is in accordance with the Quint Ambassador’s appeals that these imposed mayors, won with three percent, deal with technical and administrative matters," the Serb List said.

These decisions have caused additional concern for our citizens because they threaten the basic human rights of our people, the press release points out.

"Once again, we appeal to international representatives to prevent Kurti from causing chaos, because it is their obligation to preserve peace and security for all citizens, including the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija," the statement concludes.
